Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat: Winter is the perfect time to head into the kitchen and experiment with a few new recipes, and we can’t think of better cooking inspiration than this Netflix series starring Samin Nosrat. Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is adapted from Nosrat’s best-selling cookbook of the same name, which received a James Beard Award. In each episode, she travels to a new location to explore the essential elements of cooking through local cuisine. Nosrat makes a warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable guide—perfect inspiration for the at-home chefs among us.

Also consider finding new ways to connect with your community. Take an art class with friends, seek out volunteer opportunities, or explore that museum you pass by every day.
