Life can quickly get chaotic. And more often than not we find ourselves stressed out and caught up in the chaos of day-to-day life. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. Regaining control over our lives and finding calm is obtainable.
Keep calm and carry on is easier said then done especially when you’re surrounded by chaos. Life can sometimes get overwhelming and when it does the best thing you can do is step back and reclaim your control. Regaining control of your life amid the chaos isn’t the easiest thing, but it is achievable with a little work. The first step in gaining control of your life is finding calm. Calmness allows you to shut off everything else. It also gives you the ability to reevaluate your thought patterns and make changes.

Look for gratitude: Gratitude is key to everything in life. Gratitude can be found everywhere, even amid the chaos. If you can’t find it right away - dig deeper and do some soul-searching. Shifting from a negative to a positive mindset might be just what you need to find peace and calm. There is always something or someone to feel thankful for. No matter what your life is lacking, be grateful for what you have, and more of it will come. Be thankful for your life. Look for the good and better will happen.
Be compassionate: More often than not life’s little events can spark panic, frustration, and anger. However, uncontrollable life situations arise, and compassion can go a long way. Instead of freaking out - you can choose to react differently. If you choose kindness and understanding over anger and panic, you can change any situation. Plus acts of kindness can feel more compassion and love. Remember, you get back what you put out into the world.
Be Creative: Sometimes plans go awry and when they do it’s best to find creative ways to make the best of the situation you’re in. Looking at life’s little bumps in the road as fun and exciting can create a world of difference. If you can laugh and smile at any situation thrown your way, you'll find calm a whole a lot quicker. Try to make the best of every day and every moment.
Be Still: Thinking about the future often does more harm than good. Instead of living in the now, we often worry about what’s to come which can cause chaos in our lives. Thinking of the future can lead to anxiety, panic, and overthinking about what MIGHT happen. To avoid this, you must stop yourself from obsessing about the future and start living in the NOW. Practice turning your attention back to the now and staying present whenever you can. Meditation and stillness are two tools you can utilize to start present. Quiet your mind once or twice a day to help you stay present. Guided meditation is also a great option to retrain your mind and stay positive.
